Guardion: Next Generation Ion Sensor Technology
Guardion Technologies is developing the world’s most sensitive ion sensors, using the single-atom thick quantum material – Graphene. By exploiting certain unique quantum properties of graphene, Guardion’s ion sensors are able to detect trace quantities of ions, or charged particles, thousands to millions of times smaller than most conventional sensing technologies.
This semiconductor-processing compatible technology has the potential to revolutionize a range of important applications including radiation detection, mass spectrometry, and various industrial process monitoring technologies.
Guardion has received several awards from MassChallenge, NASA, NSF, and Boeing. A TechStars company, Guardion is currently an NSF SBIR Phase II awardee developing the world’s first single-point pressure gauge that will accurately monitor industrial processes over twelve decades of vacuum pressure that will dramatically reduce process down-times for advanced manufacturing systems.
