Burlington, Massachusetts, is not only a phenomenal hub of economic and industrial innovation but also a thriving community for families! The Burlington Recreation and Park Program publishes a seasonal brochure inviting residents and families to participate in a wide variety of fitness, music, art, and youth and adult athletic programs.
This year, in partnership with the Burlington Public Library, the Conservation Department, and the Garden Club, Springapalooza will feature a Star Wars Special Event, Mother’s Day activities, goat yoga, vernal pool exploration, and bird-watching. Several popular annual events will also be held, such as the Egg Hunt and Eggs-cursion, the Family Fishing Festival, the Community Gardens, and a massive Community Yard Sale.
There is something for everyone this spring in Burlington. Here are a few of our favorite upcoming events.
Springapalooza 2025
Spring is an exciting time in Burlington, where you and your family can get outdoors and enjoy the warm weather with some fun events throughout Burlington.
For the Star Wars Fans
May the force be with you! If you love the intricate world of Star Wars, you are in for a treat. This year, Burlington is hosting a special Star Wars event on (none other than) May the 4th.
Dress as your favorite Star Wars character, bring your lightsaber, and get ready for a morning of Star Wars-themed fun. Join us from 10 am to 12 pm at Wildwood Park, where you and your child can enjoy a Millennium Falcon Inflatable, Star Wars characters and lightsaber training for young Padawans on their way to becoming full-fledged Jedi. Be sure to pre-register for lightsaber training!
For Nature Explorers
Nature lovers have lots to choose from this spring including vernal pool exploration, bird watching, goat yoga and fishing festivals.
Reconnect with nature as you explore vernal pools at Mill Pond Reservoir. These unique seasonal pools appear after spring rains and snowpack melt, allowing visitors to explore the inhabitants and better understand their role in the ecosystem. This event will be held on April 9, 2025, from 10 to 11 am. When registering, reference activity number 300637-A.
If you love ornithology or just enjoy watching birds of all sizes, colors or species, the Bird Walk with Burlington Conservation may be an ideal spring activity to enjoy. This free event takes place on April 23rd at 9 am at Mary PC Cummings Park. This guided walk will allow birders of all levels to identify birds through field marks, sounds and behavior.
For those who like to pair their exercise with animals, Goat Yoga is a fun way to stretch and strengthen, all while smiling, laughing and having fun with baby goats. This unique exercise class is being held at Chip In Farm on May 31st. Please bring a yoga mat. The cost is $25.
The Family Fishing Festival is being held this year at Mill Pond Reservoir on May 17th from 10 am to 1 pm and promises to be just as popular as last year. Bring your own gear or borrow some of the Rec Department’s.
For Mother’s Day
Mom’s special day is fast approaching. If you’re looking for something fun and unique this year, check out Burlington’s Mother’s Day Painting in the Treehouse. This event, which is geared for children ages 5 to 8, will take place on May 10th from 10 to 11:30 am.
Community Garden and Yard Sale
Want to get more involved in Burlington? Join us in the Community Garden from May through October, where you can grow your own flowers or food. Contact Burlington Rec for more information.
Cleaning out your closets and garage? Take part in the Burlington Yard Sale on Saturday, May 17th, from 10 am to 2 pm at your home or at the community location – Memorial Elementary School. This is a great way to recycle, repurpose and reuse! Be sure to register for the community location, spaces are limited.
