Operations Control Center in Burlington, MA
Burlington is home to the Operations Control Center for NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory, a large Earth-orbiting telescope that can see X-rays from deep in space.
The Chandra X-ray Observatory was launched in 1999 as NASA’s flagship mission for X-ray astronomy. It is designed to detect X-ray emission from very hot regions of the Universe such as exploded stars, clusters of galaxies, and matter around black holes.
