Spooky season is upon us once again! From bright orange pumpkins on front steps to creepy costumes ready to be worn, the much-anticipated Halloween season is right around the corner. Burlington community groups are well-prepared to celebrate the holiday.
Whether you want to pick your own pumpkin, take part in a Trunk-or-Treat, gather candy from local retailers or scramble for candy during the Candy Crane Drop at Burlington’s Halloween Spooktacular, there are plenty of options for things to do and ways to get involved this fall. Here are a few events that you won’t want to miss as you get the spirit of this ghostly season in Burlington.
Halloween Spooktacular & Candy Crane Drop
On October 18th, from 2:30 pm to 7 pm at Simonds Park, Burlington Parks and Recreation will be hosting their annual Halloween Spooktacular and Candy Crane Drop.
Put on your costume and head to Simonds Park for some traditional Halloween fun, as well as some non-traditional activities like the Candy Crane Drop. This event is being sponsored by East Coast Tree, Kohler By Rite Window and Northeastern.
Howl-O-Ween Party at Burlington Mall
The Burlington Mall is hosting its 5th annual Howl-O-Ween party for our best furry friends! Enjoy the Halloween season with a fun-filled day for you and your pup, featuring pet costume contests, samples from Boston Barkery, and the Canine Patio Menu from Common Craft!
Great Dog Rescue New England will be on-site with an adoptable dog meet-and-greet and raffle! The event will be held on Saturday, October 25, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the green space located across from Common Craft.
Trunk or Treat
The Burlington Girl Scouts will be partnering with Kadilak Realty Group to host a Trunk or Treat at Burlington High School on Sunday, Oct.19th 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm (set up begins at 1:00). The Rain date is yet to be determined. Look for Trunk or Treat at the faculty parking lot near the rocks with the graffiti!
St. Mark’s Pumpkin Patch
It’s hard to pass up the uniquely autumn look of a freshly picked pumpkin, perfect for carving or decoration. Each year, during October, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Burlington hosts a Pumpkin Patch, where guests can pick out and purchase pumpkins and gourds, enjoy raffles and games, and take fall pictures with rows and rows of pumpkins.
All of the profits from the sale of pumpkins are given to the People Helping People Food Pantry to support the town’s food pantry. Check out the offerings at 10 St. Mark’s
Halloween at Wayside
Enjoy a Halloween Party hosted at Wayside Burlington. The event comes complete with a DJ and dance party from Party Excitement Entertainment, a Bubble Show featuring Bubbles McGee – Bubble Entertainer, face painting, and a photo BOO-th. You may also enjoy creating crafts with Made in Burlington and drawing fun outside Diamonds and Pearls by David’s Bridal. Come in costume and get ready for a family fun time at Wayside!
Wayside kindly requests that guests bring items to donate to the People Helping People food pantry. This not-for-profit organization works to establish and sustain a community-wide effort to help meet the basic needs of residents of Burlington, MA. Burlington Library Teen Halloween Escape Room
On Monday, October 27th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., teens in grades 6-12 are invited to participate in a hauntingly spooky escape room at the Burlington Public Library. Join your friends as you try to solve the mystery and escape the room. Please register for this event by October 14th here.
