2023 Town Center Beer Garden & Local Business Fest

Burlington Brings Beer & Local Businesses Together in September

New England breweries and eats from local restaurants welcome all at this family-friendly event

The Town of Burlington announces the return of their September Town Center Beer Garden & Local Business Fest Thursdays promoting the support of local businesses and regional breweries.

Beginning Thursday, September 7, various New England-based breweries will be on location serving their specialty beverages along with a variety of non-alcohol options from 4:30pm-8:30pm.

Burlington’s Town Center independent restaurants will also be on-site offering signature food dishes every Thursday, including Halal Eats!, Pizza Works, Rosa Mexicano, True North Coffee, Al Maidah, The Sausage Guy, Viet Citron & Schoolhouse Ice Cream.

People are encouraged to purchase food, snacks from the businesses along the Cambridge Street corridor, and enjoy them at Community Corner pocket park. The breweries will rotate each Thursday:

9/7       Zero Gravity

9/14     Lord Hobo

9/21     Lawson’s Finest Liquid

9/28     Mighty Squirrel

An estimated 1,200 people participated in last year’s family and dog-friendly events which featured a different  Massachusetts brewery each week.

Town Center Beer Garden & Local Business Thursdays is part of Burlington’s “placemaking” effort which is a people-centered approach to the planning, design, and use of public spaces. Through a collaborative process, do-able improvements are identified and implemented that bring immediate benefits to the people who use these spaces.

Community Corner pocket park is an installation that converted vehicle parking spaces at 184 Cambridge Street into a playful public space with green turf. In 2022, Mary Leach’s “Community Corner” entry was chosen as the winning name in the Name the Park contest.  Building upon the success of the 2022 Beer Garden Thursdays and the 2021 Beer Garden & Business Open House event, this weekly Thursday night program in September is expected to once again increase foot traffic and business activity in Burlington’s Town Center.

“Placemaking in the Town of Burlington is not just the act of building or fixing up a space, it is a process in which people feel a strong stake in their communities and commitment to making things better,” said Melisa Tintocalis, Burlington’s Economic Development Director.

Community Beer Garden Thursdays Comes to Burlington’s Town Center

Award-winning breweries and local restaurants bring together community at this family-friendly event

Burlington, MA – Summer may be winding down, but the Town of Burlington keeps the good times rolling in September with its Community Beer Garden Thursdays at the newly transformed Pocket Park in Burlington’s Town Center.

Beginning Thursday, September 8, various Massachusetts-based breweries will pour their award-winning specialty drafts from 4:30pm-8:30pm. Burlington’s independent restaurants will also set-up tables to offer signature dishes. Residents and friends of Burlington are also encouraged to purchase food and snacks from businesses along the Cambridge Street corridor and enjoy them at the Pocket Park.

The event is both family-friendly and dog-friendly.

Community Beer Garden Thursdays is part of Burlington’s “placemaking” effort which is a people-centered approach to the planning, design, and use of public spaces. Through a collaborative process, do-able improvements are identified and implemented that bring immediate benefits to the people who use these spaces.

The Pocket Park was renovated from a concrete parking lot near 184 Cambridge Street into a playful public space with green turf. Building upon the success of the 2021 Beer Garden & Business Open House event, this weekly Thursday night event in September is expected to increase foot traffic and business activity into Burlington’s Town Center.

“Placemaking in the Town of Burlington is not just the act of building or fixing up a space, it is a process in which people feel a strong stake in their communities and commitment to making things better,” said Melisa Tintocalis, Burlington’s Economic Development Director.
